I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – the mountains are beautiful. It is an environment that you can’t imagine until you’re there. Only when you’re actually standing on the slopes can you understand the Mountain Magic.
The Mountain Magic is being surrounded by rock that you know haven’t changed in thousands of years. Despite the craziness of the world, the mountains stay the same. They are steady in their beauty. The peaks rise impossibly high, and they go on and on into the distance.
The Mountain Magic is seeing blue and white as far as the eye can see. The white of the snow is so pure and unspoilt, and the blue of the sky against it is amazing. When it’s sunny, the light reflects off the snow.
The Mountain Magic is silence. No traffic noises or people talking or announcements or babies crying. Up there, you can hear yourself think, and all you can hear is the wind. It is so peaceful and tranquil. In the mountains, you can really relax.
Until you have to ski back down.
